Finally, a mattress designed for

The rest needed to relieve
the fatigue and pain

ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR SYMPTOMS

It is estimated that 1 out of 3 Americans have difficulty lying in bed because of back pain.

One significant reason for this is – your mattress. Beginning in 2001, virtually all national brands and off-brand retail mattress companies began utilizing lighter, cheaper foams designed to break down faster so they could sell more beds during your lifetime. In fact, you can spend up to $2000 for a retail mattress from one of these competing retail brands and it will begin to break down within 6 to 18 months. It will need to be completely replaced within 6 years.

As the mattress breaks down, the increased counter pressure can twist the spine by resisting the weight of the shoulders and hips. This results in several negative consequences. Poor support that is provided by the broken-down mattress contorts the back and body, resulting in bone and muscle stress, discomfort, and poor sleep.

This creates greater pressure point pain on shoulders, hips and, thighs, disrupting cell structure and constricting the veins. This pressure impairs circulation, forcing the heart rate to increase causing the heart to pump harder to keep blood flowing. This forces blood pressure to climb, further stressing your body.

Your body can toss and turn up to 200 times a night to relieve this painful counter pressure. The more restless you are, the less rest your body gets.

If this is you…It probably began with soreness, but quickly intensified into stiffness and then pain. This can become more intense over time. This is because your mattress sleep surface is contorting your back and body, causing spinal, disc, and muscle stress.

In the beginning, for the relief of chronic back pain, we designed a 10" thick mattress using our 2nd generation high density (H.D.) memory foam for our comfort layer that did not reflect body heat. It was fast recovering, unaffected by room temperature, and did not smell like traditional retail memory foam. The mattress achieved incredible results. These results were further validated after one of the top medical schools completed an independent medical study that was limited to individuals under a physician's care for chronic lower back pain. The results from sleeping on an HD memory foam mattress showed 90% of the participating individuals slept longer and better each night, along with a reduction in lower back pain, a decrease in daytime sleepiness, and an improvement in both mental and physical health.

While the information in this independent study further validated our claims, our mattress designs have evolved over the years into our dynamic MajesticBed sleep systems. For chronic back pain, MajesticBeds offers 4 designs providing durable sleep surfaces offering different levels of superior spinal support with individualized pressure-relieving comfort, do not restrict circulation, and absorb excess body heat to help promote a more restorative, restful night's sleep.

  • Majestic Plus offers the most pressure with adaptive support for individuals weighing up to 220 lbs.
  • MajesticBed offers soothing pressure relieving comfort with adaptive spinal support for individuals weighing up to   240 lbs.
  • Majestic Solution I offers firm stabilizing spinal support for chronic back pain especially targeting a feeling of fuller support for the lumbar curve for individuals weighing up to 240 lbs.
  • MajesticBed Solution II offers the firmest stabilizing spinal support for severe back pain for individuals weighing up to 260 lbs.

These 4 MajesticBed Sleep Systems offer 4 different designs, utilizing pressure relieving layers for the individualized spinal support and comfort needed to relieve spinal stress, pain, and increased mobility to help relieve pain sensitivity from the symptoms of chronic back pain by utilizing our different layers.

  • The patented Ergo Gel, absorbs excess body heat while its pressure-relieving design relieves painful hip and shoulder counter pressure.
  • The proprietary Ergo Comfort Layer molds to your body contours to create proper spinal support, while reacting immediately to changes in your sleeping position.
  • The patented Ergo Transition Layer enhances the comfort layers' ability to conform around the shoulders and hips while minimizing surface counter pressure to help relieve shoulder and hip pain.

People suffering from Alzheimer's disease and many other forms of dementia are often at their best earlier in the day. But, as the day progresses, the individual's memory and ability to carry out tasks can deteriorate. Behavioral symptoms, such as agitation and sleep disturbances, are among the most challenging symptoms of the disease and are major factors in choosing to move a loved one from the home into professional care, such as a nursing home or memory care facility.

The term "Sundowning" is used to describe this condition: as the day progresses into the afternoon and evening, fatigue begins to set in, increasing confusion and agitation levels leading to behavioral changes. As fatigue increases, so does confusion and agitation. While there is a comprehensive list of ways to help cope with "Sundowning", one of the most overlooked contributors to fatigue could be directly under them – the mattress.

Let’s take a moment to analyze 3 types of mattresses they may be sleeping on:

  1. The Medicare reimbursable fiberfill mattress. The fiberfill creates a harder, unforgiving sleep surface, creating high levels of painful counter-pressure against the body.
  2. An old mattress in which the comfort layers of the sleep surface may have broken down, creating valleys in the mattress. Laying on a surface like this creates painful counter pressure from the support springs caused by the loss of padding in the comfort layers.
  3. A new retail mattress. Every major national brand and off-brand since 2001 has had their foam comfort layers redesigned to break down faster to sell more beds. In fact, you can spend up to $2000 for a queen mattress built by any of these competing retail brands, only to have a significant surface break down in less than a year. This causes painful counter pressure, disrupting sleep patterns and increasing their fatigue levels.

Whether it's a Medicare mattress, old mattress, or a new retail mattress, over time, the sleep surface will create high levels of painful counter pressure on tender shoulder and hip joints; contort the spine; restrict circulation forcing the heart to work harder; reflect body heat, causing the individual to sleep hotter. All of these factors severely disrupt sleep patterns which increase levels of fatigue. Talk to one of our sleep experts, who can describe the steps needed to determine if their body is contorted on an existing mattress.

Along with the mind, the body is weakening due to lack of exercise and age. As some people lose strength, their bodies become less capable of withstanding the excess counter pressure of an aging mattress, making restful sleep almost impossible.

In our early years, we were using a 2nd generation high density (H.D.) memory foam for our comfort layer that did not sleep hot, was fast recovering, unaffected by room temperature, and did not smell compared to the issues traditional retail memory foam was having. An independent case study was completed, involving a group of nursing home residents with Alzheimer's disease who were randomly assigned to sleep on an H.D. memory foam mattress for a period of time. Researchers involved found these residents had a statistically greater reduction of agitation levels in comparison to other residents sleeping on a traditional innerspring or hospital mattress during the case study period. They concluded that this data helps to substantiate mounting evidence indicating individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia experience fewer symptoms of agitation when sleeping on a mattress containing H.D. memory foam (in addition to traditional drug treatments). This independent study validated the positive patient reports we have received from countless patients and their family members.

Since these early years, our MajesticBeds’ mattress designs have evolved with up to 3 patented comfort layers, along with our newly designed proprietary 2nd generation liquid gel infused H.D. memory foam, to address individual body size and other physical issues by providing pressure-relieving comfort, superior spinal support, unrestricted circulation, and body heat absorption to help promote a more restorative, restful night's sleep.

It is estimated up to 90% of the 4 million Fibromyalgia sufferers in the U.S. are women. Fibromyalgia causes widespread pain all over the body, sleep problems, fatigue, and often emotional and mental distress.

The most common symptoms of fibromyalgia can become worse in a chain reaction starting with the lack of sleep:

Disruptions in Sleep Patterns and Sleep Deprivation will cause...

  • Increased levels of Fatigue and Tiredness
  • Greater Pain Sensitivity and Stiffness
  • Greater Temperature Sensitivity Including Hot Flashes
  • Higher Levels of Depression and Anxiety
  • Problems with Thinking, Memory, and Concentration
  • Headaches and Migraines
Doctors traditionally treat fibromyalgia with medication along with a combination of self –management treatments, including developing better sleep habits to improve the quality of sleep, exercise, patient education, stress management, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for treating depression.

Creating better sleep habits is crucial for achieving a better, more restful sleep to help manage painful symptoms. Unfortunately, the most overlooked issue disrupting your sleep and exasperating your painful symptoms could be right under you – your retail mattress, and it could be doing far more harm than good.

Here’s why. Beginning in 2001, virtually every national brand and off-brand retail mattress company began utilizing lighter, cheaper foams designed to breakdown faster so they could sell more beds during your lifetime. In fact, you can spend up to $2000 for a retail mattress from one of these competing retailers and it will begin to breakdown within 6 to 18 months and the mattress will be broken down to the point it will need to be replaced within 6 years.

A poor sleep surface disrupts needed sleep patterns resulting in increased fatigue levels. Increased fatigue from sleep deprivation increases sensitivity to pain levels creating an unhealthy, downward spiral of disrupted sleep.

Here’s how…. As your retail mattress comfort layers break down, the resulting increased counter pressure can twist the spine by resisting the weight of the shoulders and hips, which contorts the back and body resulting in bone and muscle stress, along with discomfort and poor sleep.

This creates greater pressure point pain on shoulders, hips, and thighs, along with disrupting cell structure and constricting the veins, impairing circulation. forcing the heart rate to climb causing an increase in blood pressure.

You will toss and turn up to 200 times a night to relieve this painful counter pressure. The more restless you are, the less rest your body gets, and the more fatigued you become. This leads to an increase in pain sensitivity.

Throughout our career, we have designed sleep surfaces to help fibromyalgia sufferers get a better night’s sleep. In the beginning, to relieve the pain of fibromyalgia, we designed a mattress that included a 4-inch thick layer of our 2nd generation high density (H.D.) memory foam for our comfort layer that did not sleep hot, had fast recovery, was unaffected by room temperature, and did not produce an odor like retail memory foam. The mattress provided the support and comfort needed to achieve a more restful, restorative sleep, which led to minimizing fatigue and lower sensitivity pain levels.

The results we were having using our H.D. foam for relief from symptoms caused by fibromyalgia were validated by a study commissioned through a major mattress manufacturer to determine the potential benefits of H.D. memory foam. The study's participants were limited to moderate to severe fibromyalgia sufferers. Over a period of 3 weeks, the participants slept on an H.D. memory foam mattress instead of their innerspring mattress. The findings were impressive, with a reported pain reduction of up to 60% by the last day of the study. Also, the participants experienced an increase in sleep duration of 1¼ hours, decrease in sleep disruptions by 29%, a decrease in daytime sleepiness, and an improvement in both mental and physical health.

Over the years, our mattresses designs have evolved into our dynamic MajesticBed mattress. For fibromyalgia sufferers, MajesticBeds’ recommends 3 mattresses providing durable sleep surfaces with different levels of superior spinal support with adoptive pressure-relieving comfort, do not restrict circulation, and absorbs excess body heat to help promote a more restorative, restful night's sleep.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that arthritis is the nation's most common cause of disability, while a national health interview survey found that around 46 million adults have self-reported arthritis. A study titled "Self-Reported Arthritis-Related Disruptions in Sleep and Daily Life and the Use of Medical, Complementary, and Self-care Strategies for Arthritis" found that over 30 percent of self-reported arthritics said falling asleep and staying asleep is one of their major limitations.

In another study physicians at the University of North Carolina concluded that improving sleep is an important factor in alleviating the pain and daily limitations associated with arthritis. Mattresses that improve sleep are just as important as the need for medications, natural remedies, and self-care measures intended to relieve pain in arthritics.

Most arthritics simply cannot fall asleep and get a full night's rest. For instance, it's common for arthritics to feel exhausted at bedtime; however, their bodies are not physically tired. This is because joint immobility reduces physical activity, leaving arthritics' bodies with a surplus of energy at the end of the day. This can lead to insomnia, which has negative health consequences and also can increase the pain and immobility of arthritics.

Sadly, retail mattresses are not designed to provide the comfort and support to help arthritics address their pain and symptoms. Almost all retail inner-spring mattresses, especially as the sleep surface begins to break down in the first year, create greater painful counter pressure on the shoulders, hips, and thighs. This resistance against the shoulders and hips results in 2 negative consequences. Poor support contorts the back and body which causes bone and muscle stress, discomfort, and poor sleep. This counter-pressure constricts the veins and disrupts cell structure. Heart rate increases as the heart pumps harder to keep blood flowing, causing blood pressure to climb while stressing the body.

The solution is a mattress that is designed to provide comfort and support while helping to alleviate pressure points often connected with arthritis pain. A good night’s sleep allows the joints to rest, which reduces pain and swelling. Furthermore, quality sleep boosts energy and lowers sensitivity to pain so that arthritics are able to cope with and manage their pain levels better. A proper mattress will conform to the entire body to provide both comfort and support.

The MajesticBed Sleep Systems are created to provide a durable sleep surface designed with our different layers.

  • The patented Ergo Gel, absorbs excess body heat while its pressure-relieving design relieves painful hip and shoulder counter pressure.
  • The proprietary Ergo Comfort Layer molds to your body contours to create proper spinal support while reacting immediately to changes in your sleeping position.
  • The patented Ergo Transition Layer enhances the comfort layers ability to conform around the shoulders and hips while minimizing surface counter pressure to help relieve shoulder and hip pain.

The average adult needs at least seven hours of sleep. Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that up to 44% of the adults in the United States regularly get less sleep. Unfortunately, the less sleep, the greater the risk of developing high blood pressure.

Blood pressure directly responds to sleep loss, leading to a handful of negative side effects. Sleep deprivation is a reliable predictor of increased blood pressure levels. The results remained consistent even after being adjusted for age, race, sex, and presence of high blood pressure medication. In these cases, both shortened sleep duration and poor sleep quality contributed to the increase in blood pressure readings.

In part, sleep deprivation's effects on mental and emotional state shed light on the forces at work. Without enough sleep, the brain becomes more sensitive to negative thoughts and feelings, which causes an increase in stress hormones such as cortisol. This naturally causes a rise in blood pressure.

Managing stress levels and creating a better sleep environment are 2 of the key components for becoming proactive in managing blood pressure. Unfortunately, in creating a better sleep environment, the most overlooked issue disrupting sleep is the retail mattress, and it could be doing far more harm than good.

Here’s why. Beginning in 2001, virtually every national brand and off-brand retail mattress company began utilizing lighter, cheaper foams designed to break down faster so they could sell more beds during your lifetime. In fact, you can spend up to $2000 for a retail mattress from one of these competing retailers, and it will begin to break down within 6 to 18 months. The mattress will be broken down to the point that it will need to be replaced within 6 years.

A poor sleep surface disrupts needed sleep patterns, resulting in increased fatigue levels. Increased fatigue from sleep deprivation increases sensitivity to pain levels, creating an unhealthy, downward spiral that can adversely affect blood pressure levels.

Here’s how…. As your retail mattress comfort layers break down, the resulting increased counter pressure can twist the spine by resisting the weight of the shoulders and hips, contorting the back and body and resulting in bone and muscle stress, discomfort, and poor sleep.
